The Meltan quests in Pokémon GO have only been running for a few days, but players should hurry to complete them.
The special research that leads to Meltan consists of nine steps. Many steps include tasks that are easier to solve with the help of the current Let’s GO event in Pokémon GO. Without this event, these tasks are more challenging.
How much longer does the event last? The Let’s GO event lasts until November 27. You can complete the Meltan quests without a time limit.

Some Pokémon of the Meltan quest are hard to catch
The Meltan quests are easy to solve alongside the ongoing Let’s GO event. However, once the event is over and the spawns and field research change, the special research will become a tough challenge.
These quests will be harder after the event: Most quests revolve around specific Pokémon that you need to catch to complete. These Pokémon are easy to find during the current event. After the event, they will return to being rare Pokémon.
- Catch a Ditto
- Many players struggled to catch a Ditto during the Mew quest. Currently, you can get a Ditto from a special field research. However, this will disappear after the Let’s GO event.
- Catch 5 Steel-type and Electric-type Pokémon
- These two quests, which you will encounter at level 4 of 9, can be completed quickly due to the frequent Pikachu and Magnemite around every corner. Without an event, you will find Pokémon of these types less often. Stollunior is the most common for Steel-type, and the likely candidate for Electric-type is Frizelbliz.
- Catch 5 Owei
- The Grass-type Pokémon Owei is currently appearing frequently in the wild. However, after the event, this Pokémon will also become rarer. From the quest “Hatch an Egg”, you can receive an Owei as a reward. In the wild, this Pokémon will no longer appear regularly.
- Catch two Kabuto or Amonitas and Catch two Liliep or Anorith
- These two tasks await you at level 8 of 9. The current event Pokémon make it easy to complete these tasks. After the event, you will find these Pokémon more often in nests than in the wild. They will also not be available from quests.
- Catch an Aerodactyl
- Currently, you can obtain Aerodactyl from the quest “Hatch two Eggs”. After the Let’s GO event, this Pokémon will not be found either in a quest or frequently in the wild. Therefore, you should complete the quest now and save the Aerodactyl in your storage.
A large portion of the quests will become significantly harder after the current event. There will be no better time to complete the quests. So, make the most of the time until November 27 and get your Meltan.
