Currently in Pokémon GO, the Detective Pikachu event is happening and players from Europe are complaining about an annoying disadvantage. We will tell you what it’s all about.
This disadvantage we have in Europe: In Europe, there is Pantimos as a regional Pokémon to catch. This Pokémon can also be found more frequently in the event, blocking numerous other spawns.
Pantimos is also very common outside of the event, so players are not really looking for more Pantimos spawns. Other regions of the world do not have this disadvantage. In those regions, Pantimos does not exist, and the spawns are correspondingly different and better for many players.
What players say about the Pantimos disadvantage
This is how Pantimos is perceived by the players: Player “FFIXwasthebestFF” writes on Reddit: “I know they want to bring Pokémon that play a role in the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie. But having more Pantimos in the wild is a slap in the face for all European players. They are a real plague all year round. Niantic should reduce the spawns of that.”
Player “arkenmaverick” even writes: “This game has made me hate Pantimos with all my heart.”
“axnjxn00” says: “It’s unbelievable that they have increased the damn Pantimos spawns. Currently, 75% of the spawns are Pantimos.”
This problem exists with Pantimos: The regional Pokémon is completely useless. It cannot be evolved for XP, nor is it useful in battle.
When comparing Pantimos with regional Pokémon like Scyther or Tauros, it is significantly weaker. Even outside of events, Pantimos is everywhere. Every player has caught more than enough Pantimos.
That’s why players feel disadvantaged: Looking at other regions of the world, the spawns there are significantly more pleasant. Every Pantimos here is a different and possibly better spawn in other regions. So during the event, apart from Pantimos, there are almost only possible Shinies. This regional Pokémon effectively pushes those spawns away.
