Eevee with Flower Crown is the Research Breakthrough in September and October 2019 in Pokémon GO. Players are criticizing Niantic harshly.
What was announced? On August 31, Niantic reported that Eevee would be the Research Breakthrough for the next two months. This involves the special Eevee form with a flower crown on its head.
How long is Eevee a Research Breakthrough? From September 1, 2019 at 10:00 PM to November 1, 2019 at 10:00 PM, you will receive this Pokémon in Research Breakthroughs in Pokémon GO.
Is there a Shiny version? Yes. The developers confirmed that with some luck, you can also get a Shiny Eevee with a flower crown as a Research Breakthrough.
Keep in mind: If you catch an Eevee with a flower crown, you can evolve it into many other Eevee variants that wear such a flower crown. If you are still missing some in your collection, the Research Breakthroughs are a good opportunity to acquire these Pokémon.

How to develop Eevee strategically in Pokémon GO, you can find out here.

What players are happy about: Opinions about the Eevee reward are divided on social media. Some players, especially collectors, are happy to complete their collection with the missing flower Eevees.
This is the criticism of the Research Breakthrough: Other players are not pleased at all and are asking if it’s a joke. One user writes on Twitter “April Fools’ jokes were made about 5 months ago, you’re too late.”
Another user writes on Twitter: “Of the 4 different Legendary Pokémon that have Shiny versions, Eevee is now added. I find that disappointing, especially considering it’s the month of Ultra Bonuses. Maybe the regional Kanto Pokémon would have been a better choice?”
In the Reddit thread regarding the Eevee announcement, this comment is currently the most upvoted: “This has to be the most disappointing Research Breakthrough so far. Why didn’t they just throw in the Regional Kanto Pokémon along with the Ultra Bonus into the rewards?”
Another player pointed out another problem. Those who don’t raid much or have little opportunity to do so in rural areas use the Research Breakthroughs to obtain Legendary Pokémon.
“For someone who doesn’t raid often and relies on Research Breakthroughs to fill their Pokédex, this is really disappointing.”
How do you like the Research Breakthrough? Can you still use a few Eevees, or would you have preferred to receive something Legendary?
