What challenge is it about? In Pokémon GO, the event Bug Catching
runs until April 17, 2024, where you can encounter various Bug-type monsters. Niantic has provided you with four different collector challenges. In these, you not only have to catch Pokémon but also evolve them.
A part of this research is the Bug and Flying Pokémon Wadribie, which can be quite tricky to evolve. Below we will show you what to consider in order to complete the challenge.

Evolving Wadribie into Honweisel – Here’s how
What you need to consider: Wadribie is a Bug and Flying Pokémon from the fourth generation of games. It has only one evolution, Honweisel, for which you need just 50 candies. However, this can make you sweat a bit.
Unlike most other monsters, only the female form of Wadribie can evolve. Therefore, to complete the collector challenge, you need to look for a corresponding specimen or use one from your collection. You can recognize it by the red marking above its lower hive.
How can you get a female Wadribie? To secure a female specimen, you need a fair amount of luck. They are significantly rarer to find than the male variant.
However, during the Bug Catching
-event, Wadribie spawns more frequently in the wild, thereby increasing your chances of female specimens. So pay close attention to your surroundings.
If you cannot find a female Wadribie and do not have one left in your collection, you can alternatively ask another trainer if they can trade you a specimen. We explain why there are so many male Wadribie in the game in the following article:
Can you catch Wadribie as a Shiny? Yes, with some luck, you can also encounter a shiny specimen. You can recognize it by its orange body.
Other monsters needed for the collector challenge
To complete all collector challenges, a total of 19 monsters are needed. You must catch 8 of them and evolve the remaining 11. The following Pokémon are needed to solve the four challenges:
Bug Catching: Collector Challenge 1
- Raupy and its evolutions Safcon and Smettbo
- Hornliu and its evolutions Kokuna and Bibor
Reward: If you have found Raupy and Hornliu and evolved them accordingly, you will receive a meeting with Bibor as a reward, along with 50 Mega Energy for Bibor.
Bug Catching: Collector Challenge 2
- Strawickl and its evolutions Folikon and Matrifol
- Wadribie and its evolution Honweisel
Reward: If you have found Strawickl and Wadribie and evolved them accordingly, you will receive a meeting with Pinsir as a reward, along with 50 Mega Energy for Pinsir.
Bug Catching: Collector Challenge 3
- Lithomith and its evolution Castellith
- Zirpurze and its evolution Zirpeise
- Wommel and its evolution Bandelby
Reward: If you have found Lithomith, Zirpurze, and Wommel and evolved them accordingly, you will receive a meeting with Scherox as a reward, along with 50 Mega Energy for Scherox.
Bug Catching: Collector Challenge 4
- Nincada and its evolution Ninjask
Reward: If you have found Nincada and evolved it accordingly, you will receive a meeting with Ninjatom as a reward.
Where can you find the sought Pokémon? All sought Pokémon spawn in the wild during the event. Nincada can also be found in Level 1 raids.
How long do you have to solve the challenges? The challenges are active until the end of the event, on April 17, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time. Don’t forget to pick up your rewards by this time, or else they will also be lost when the event ends.
