Under the current circumstances, it’s almost impossible to complete a 4-player raid in Pokémon GO solo. However, there is one exception: The Level 4 boss Tengulist can be defeated solo.
This is the raid boss in question: The current Level 4 boss Tengulist is still possible to defeat alone. This is something special, as Niantic made some changes to the raid bosses a few weeks ago that made it harder. As a result, Pokémon like Absol or Despotar could no longer be defeated solo.
Tengulist remains solo-capable. It is currently the only Level 4 boss that can be defeated without assistance.
How to defeat Tengulist solo
What counters do you need? Tengulist is of Dark and Grass type. This gives it a double weakness against Bug Pokémon. If you exploit this weakness, you can defeat Tengulist.
Watch a video here: The player “MJK151” demonstrates in a video how it can be accomplished solo. His team consists of 6 Bug Pokémon. 5 of those Pokémon are at maximum level.
This condition must be met: To defeat Tengulist solo, it must be raining in the game. With the weather bonus, you can then defeat Tengulist.
How to save time: The player in the video had 15 seconds of time left. It is thus quite easily achievable. If you do not have very strong Pokémon, you can save time by using a trick.
Create an empty battle team, just like in the video, and only switch this team once the lobby time has run out. This way, you save the annoying animation at the beginning and have saved 3-4 seconds.
Are there other 4-player raids that can be accomplished solo? According to raid simulations, there are no other 4-player raids that can be completed alone.
Even those bosses that could previously be fought alone can no longer be done.
It was once possible to defeat Rizeros and Geowaz alone. This is no longer possible, according to the simulator.
The current legendary raid boss Dialga can already be defeated by two players:
