In Pokémon GO a new Shiny could soon be waiting for you. The Plant Event is starting and might bring a new shiny version.
That’s why a new Shiny could come: The Plant Event starts today, on March 19, in Pokémon GO. So far, no new Shiny has been officially confirmed. However, the chances are pretty good when looking at past events.
In past events of this type, new Shinys were released repeatedly. Most recently, this was the case with the Battle Event and Shiny Machop and Mankey.

Which Pokémon are announced? The official announcement from Niantic mentions the following Pokémon:
- Oddish
- Rufflet
- Sunkern
- Wurmple
Which Pokémon could be released as Shiny? Sunkern is already available as Shiny, so that can be crossed off the list for now.
On Reddit , Oddish is being considered the hottest Shiny candidate. After all, it is seen in the image for the announcement (see title image) and otherwise doesn’t play a significant role in the meta.
Rufflet and Wurmple could also be released as Shiny. However, many players think of another event for Easter with Rufflet. After all, Rufflet consists of 6 eggs, fitting for an Easter event. Nevertheless, it cannot be excluded that Rufflet will also be released as Shiny.
Why is a Shiny so likely? Niantic likes to release new Shinys during such events. There has hardly been an event recently where no new Shiny was introduced. It would be very surprising if there isn’t a new Shiny this time. But this too should not be ruled out.
When does the event start? The Plant Event starts at 9 PM on March 19. By then, we will see if a new Shiny will find its way into the game.
