In the PvP of Pokémon GO there will be significant changes soon. Some moves can increase the stats of your Pokémon and make them stronger.
Niantic has announced: The developers are continuing to work on the PvP mode of Pokémon GO. Soon, some moves can enhance the attack and defense of your Pokémon when you use that move.
So far, this change only applies to 3 moves and solely to the PvP mode in Pokémon GO. We explain which Pokémon are affected and what can change now.
Changes to the PvP Mode
When will the change take effect? The entire update will be introduced on Saturday with the Community Day of Quiekel. From then on, three moves can improve the stats of the Pokémon.

Which moves are affected? The three affected moves have not played a significant role so far and could become much more interesting now:
- Antik-Kraft (Rock type)
- Unheilböen (Ghost type)
- Silberhauch (Bug type)
What can the moves do? All three moves have the chance to increase the stats of the Pokémon. They can then enhance the attack and defense values of the Pokémon.
How will this be noticeable? There is no detailed information available yet. However, if the values are directly enhanced, then the Pokémon may either deal more damage or survive longer.
Which Pokémon are affected? The three moves are not very common so far. Nevertheless, quite a few Pokémon can learn them. This graphic shows which Pokémon can learn one of the three moves:

You should consider: Among the affected moves is also Antik-Kraft. This move will be learnable by Mamutel on Community Day. So far, it seemed quite useless. With this change, Mamutel could become more useful in the PvP mode with Antik-Kraft. So, it still makes sense to develop a Mamutel with this move.
What’s next? “These are not all the updates we have planned for trainer battles, so stay tuned!” writes Niantic in their announcement. They are waiting for announcements on which moves will also get an enhancement soon.

What’s behind the change? The PvP mode in Pokémon GO is considered monotonous by many players. There is not much surprise or excitement in the mode, which has been playable since December.
With this change, Niantic apparently wants to make the mode more interesting and make the duels somewhat more open again. It remains to be seen how well this works.
Currently, the Valentine’s Day event is underway in Pokémon GO:
