The Adventure Sync in Pokémon GO is a few weeks old and many players have suggestions and requests for the feature.
The Adventure Sync was introduced in Pokémon GO as a new and refreshing feature by Niantic. Rewards for walking a lot sound appealing to players. However, the reality looks different for many trainers. Adventure Sync does not work correctly on some devices and the rewards are too low for some players.
We have summarized some community requests and present them to you.
Adventure Sync is not working – Do something, Niantic!
The feature can be great – but for many players, the new Adventure Sync is not working. Despite downloading the fitness app and following the installation steps, Adventure Sync does not function.
Battery saver mode must be off: The phone’s battery saver mode must be turned off for Adventure Sync to work. If it is on, then the feature does not count any kilometers. Anyone wanting to save battery cannot use Adventure Sync.
Does the app need to be closed or running in the background? With the introduction of the feature, Niantic left many questions unanswered. For example, it is not clear whether the app must be closed or if it should run in the background for kilometers to be counted.
Adventure Sync must be for everyone: If some players cannot use the feature at all, then Niantic should revise the program. They should also publish a detailed list showing how installation and troubleshooting works.
Adventure Sync does not count the steps correctly
Many players complain that the steps in Adventure Sync do not count correctly. Some trainers have fewer kilometers credited than others, despite having walked the same distance.
Kilometers are missing: Many players claim that their kilometer counters are regularly inaccurate. For example, at 10 km distance, there should be at least 1-2 km missing. Niantic should revise the program for counting kilometers again.
Step counters can be cheated: Like regular fitness apps, Adventure Sync can also be cheated. By shaking the phone or using other tricks, one can artificially add steps.
Billing at the end of the week is annoying: When you have walked a lot of kilometers, nothing is more frustrating than not reaching a reward tier because your phone did not count the steps correctly.
Better rewards for Adventure Sync
If Adventure Sync has one good thing, it is the 50 km you can reach per week. A goal that not every player achieves in a week. The feeling is even better when you do reach it.
Rewards are far too low: This increases the disappointment after 50 km. A bit of stardust, a bunch of balls, and if lucky, an egg. Many players find this reward too little, especially if they previously walked over 7 km a day on average.
More stardust and special eggs: Trainers demand more stardust from the reward. Additionally, the eggs should contain special Pokémon. The 5 km eggs generally do not yield anything good, and the 10 km eggs are distributed too infrequently to many players.
Sinnoh Stone as a reward: The Sinnoh Stone is fresh in the game and would fit perfectly into the rewards of Adventure Sync. However, no player has received a Sinnoh Stone as a reward so far.
There is a lack of incentive: Players lack the motivation to walk 50 km. Why should one walk so much if, in the end, you get no good reward?
Competition among friends: Another feature that is requested is a leaderboard among friends. Who among my friends has walked how many kilometers in the week? This feature could create competition, driving players outdoors.
