This Sunday, September 15th, the Community Day with Chelast takes place in Pokémon GO. There are 3 new things about this Community Day.
What’s it about: The Community Day is a monthly event that generally runs the same way. There is a special bonus and a Pokémon appears more frequently, including as Shiny.
The last Community Day with Trasla hinted at it, and there will also be some new features for Chelast that will at least change the details of the event.
Look forward to these 3 changes
This is changing with the eggs: It was the case with Trasla, and now Chelast will benefit from it too: During the event, you will receive eggs everywhere that contain the event Pokémon.
In the case of Chelast, these are 2 km eggs. For Trasla, they were still 10 km eggs, as you usually find this monster there.
It can be worth it, because from eggs you can get Chelast with good IVs to let it learn the exclusive attack. Also, you have a chance at a Shiny there.
This is changing with the raids: This was also seen with Trasla, but now we know that Niantic will likely do this regularly during Community Days. You will also find Chelast during the event time in raids.
Here you also have good chances for Shinys or specimens with good IVs.
However, everyone has to decide for themselves whether to invest a Raid Pass for this and catch less Chelast in the wild. Here the cost-benefit factor is not really high.
This is changing with the evolving: What is new for the first time on a Community Day is the time for evolving. Until now, the event Pokémon could still be evolved up to one hour after the event ends to learn the exclusive attack.
Now you even have 2 hours. You can evolve Chelcarain until 4 PM so that Chelterrar learns Flora Statue at the end. It’s worth it, because Chelterrar will be better with the attack.
