Double event this weekend in Pokémon GO! This Saturday and Sunday, you can take advantage of two special dates. We will show you what they are!
What events are happening? This weekend, you can participate in the following two events:
- On Saturday, April 5, the Raid Day with Mega-Snorunt takes place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- On Sunday, April 6, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Rhyhorn Hatching Day takes place
Both events bring their own bonuses that you can take advantage of. Additionally, the “Stunning Variants” event continues, where you can catch Paldea Tauros and earn double XP for catching Pokémon.

How to take advantage of the Mega-Snorunt Raid Day on Saturday
These are the bonuses:
- Mega-Snorunt appears for the first time in Pokémon GO.
- You get an increased shiny chance for Snorunt that you catch in the Mega Raid.
- Snorunt can learn Body Slam.
- Up to five free raid passes from gyms.
- The daily remote raid limit is increased to 20.
- Timed research that rewards you with Stardust.
How to make the most of the event: The Raid Day allows for many battles, as you can earn up to five additional free raid passes by spinning gyms. With the standard raid pass per day, that means theoretically 6 free passes to use during the event.
Mega-Snorunt will appear at most gyms, so challenge it more often. And you should do that to earn Mega Energy, a good shiny chance, and complete the timed research.
It’s best to go to the next gym immediately after the raid to pick up a new pass and challenge the next Pokémon.
Which Pokémon to use against Mega-Snorunt? Mega-Snorunt combines the types Normal and Fairy. So, use Poison and Steel-type moves to be particularly effective.
How to make the most of the Rhyhorn Hatching Day on Sunday
These are the bonuses:
- Rhyhorn hatches from 2km eggs.
- The shiny chance for hatched Rhyhorn is increased.
- Egg hatching distance is halved (Starting April 4 at 10:00 AM until April 6 at 5:00 PM)
- You get double candy for hatching.
- You’ll be more likely to receive 2km eggs from stops.
- Timed research rewards you with a Super Incubator and XP.
How to make the most of the event: Walk, walk, walk. That is the motto during hatching days. The 2km eggs have their distance halved to one kilometer, which is valuable. Make sure that your incubator is empty at the start of the event, and then get going. Also, be sure to open your completed eggs to activate new ones. You will hatch many eggs during the event and might even get a shiny.
What you should keep in mind: Both events also have paid tickets available in the shop that provide additional bonuses. However, these are generally optional. You can take advantage of all the bonuses mentioned above without paying any money.
