The Pokémon for the Community Days in September and October in Pokémon GO have now been decided. You have voted and chosen which two species you want to see the most.
Who won? Via Twitter, trainers were able to vote from Sunday, August 23, 2020 until the early morning hours of August 24th.
The majority of votes went to the Pokémon Porygon. In second place was the starter Pokémon from Gen 1, Charmander.
The four Pokémon that were up for selection were
- Charmander
- Caterpie
- Grimer
- Porygon
How was the voting done? The Pokémon GO team started the survey on Twitter. Any user with a Twitter account could cast a vote in the survey. A total of 824,379 people participated.
The percentage distribution of the votes shows that Charmander and Porygon were the clear favorites in this voting. Caterpie and Grimer didn’t even come close to 2nd place, let alone 1st place (via Twitter).
- Charmander with 36.6% of the votes
- Caterpie with 4.1% of the votes
- Grimer with 3.9% of the votes
- Porygon with 55.3% of the votes
Community Day in September 2020
What will happen? The voting made it clear that Porygon will be the Pokémon that is the focus of the event in September.
When will it take place? The Community Day with Porygon is scheduled for Sunday, September 20.
What is special? You have not been able to catch Porygon as a Shiny so far. The Community Day should change that, giving especially Shiny hunters a reason to participate.
Porygon will learn the Normal-type move Tri Attack as an exclusive attack during the Community Day.
Community Day in October 2020
What will happen? In October, Charmander will then take the focus of the Community Day. As the second place in the vote, it deserves the spotlight in October.
When will it take place? This Community Day with Charmander is to take place on Saturday, October 17.
What is special? The special move of the event is Flame Burst. You can secure that. As a Shiny, Charmander has been in the game for a long time and is not a novelty. However, those who have not had luck with this Shiny until now will have good chances in October.
