In Pokémon GO the Shadow Jungle Event starts on March 22, 2022. It will of course feature numerous spawns and shinies for you. We at MeinMMO will show you all the important information about the event, which Pokémon you can look forward to, and what special features await you.
What event is it about? Currently in Pokémon GO the Alola Season is ongoing, which revolves around the islands and Pokémon of the Alola region. After you were able to catch the first Gen 7 monsters in the first part, the journey now continues.
During the upcoming Shadow Jungle Event, plant-type Pokémon will be at the forefront. It will also focus on the island of Akala and its guardian Kapu-Fala. Below we have summarized which spawns and shinies await you.
When does the Shadow Jungle Event take place? The Shadow Jungle Event starts on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and ends on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time. You have a whole week to make the most of the event.

The new Pokémon Imantis, Mantidea, and Kapu-Fala
For the first time, you can encounter the three new Alola Pokémon Imantis, Mantidea, and Kapu-Fala during the Shadow Jungle Event.
Imantis and Mantidea: You will find the plant Pokémon Imantis throughout the event in the wild and in the rewards of the event research. It can be evolved into Mantidea.
During the event, Mantidea is not available in the wild, in research, or in raids, so in order to register it in the Pokédex, you actually have no choice but to evolve it.
You can recognize Imantis by its small, pink body, the green decorations on its neck and head, and its leaf-like arms. Mantidea, on the other hand, is significantly larger than its pre-evolution, has a red and pink body that is striped on its legs, and features large crescent-shaped arms. Both monsters are not yet available as shinies.
Kapu-Fala: Kapu-Fala is a legendary Pokémon from the Alola region, which is regarded as the guardian of the island of Akala. The monster is of the Psychic and Fairy type.
You can recognize Kapu-Fala by its black, slender body, the long pink hair, and the pink bowls on its belly and head, which are adorned with white and pink ornaments. These bowls serve as protection for Kapu-Fala. You will not be able to catch this monster as shiny either.
The Shadow Jungle Event: All Special Features
According to the current information from Niantic, there will not be various bonuses such as increased experience points or more stardust for the Shadow Jungle Event. However, you can look forward to numerous quests and a special weekend is also planned:

- special event quests
- Reward: Encounters with Raupy*, Owei*, Sonnkern*, Waumpel*, Samurzel*, Waumboll*, Kastadur*, Imantis, Paras*, Parasek

The Spotlight Weekend with Waumboll
The Saturday and Sunday during the Shadow Jungle Event hold a special spotlight weekend for you. Similar to what you know from the weekly spotlight hours, a specific Pokémon will be in focus this weekend: Waumboll.
The plant and fairy type Pokémon from the 5th generation will spawn more frequently in parks on these two days. Since it will be the first time this shiny will be found in the game during the Shadow Jungle Event, shiny hunters can especially look forward to this mini-event.
You can recognize the Pokémon by its white-yellow body and the orange decoration on its head. Using 50 candies and a sun stone, you can also evolve it into Elfun.
When can you find Waumboll in parks? The spotlight weekend runs from March 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time to March 27, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time. You have plenty of time to look for shiny Waumboll.
Which Pokémon will you definitely secure? And what do you think about the announced quests and the spotlight weekend for the Shadow Jungle Event? Feel free to share your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.
