In Pokémon GO, the Team Rocket invasion is temporarily over. At the end of this small event, the leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni, also makes a statement.
This was the invasion: On Sunday, there was a small extra event around Team Rocket. The grunts showed on Twitter how they flew around the world, taking over all PokéStops everywhere. For one hour, there was an encounter with a Rocket grunt at every PokéStop in each location.
Now the invasion is temporarily over, announces the head of Team Rocket himself. This is the first time Giovanni appears in connection with Pokémon GO. He was last hinted at with a small teaser.
What the Rocket Leader says to the players
Here he speaks out: After the grunts took over the social media channels of Pokémon GO, Giovanni speaks here and says:
We hope you enjoyed the taste of Team GO Rocket and our power. We had our fun and got what we wanted. You can have your social media channels back now… for now. –G
In line with this, there was also a picture of the boss. As usual, his face is not recognizable. He has mostly been portrayed this way in the Pokémon anime.
Is Team Rocket completely gone now? No, there are still more PokéStops being invaded by Team Rocket. Only the invasion that affected all PokéStops is now over.
What does this mean for the future? Giovanni apparently is not done with his schemes yet. He does say they are done for now. This sounds like he will be back soon.
Players suspect that such a Rocket Hour is an event that will happen more often, similar to a raid hour. Other trainers suggest that Giovanni’s return could bring further crypto Pokémon, such as Legendary.
