In Pokémon GO, the Lunar New Year event is coming up in February 2024. We will show you on MeinMMO, which Pokémon you can catch at the event and what else to expect.
When does the event take place? The Lunar New Year event begins on February 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM and will run until Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM. In addition to a paid limited research, you can expect many Dragon-type Pokémon, several bonuses, and a global challenge. The event starts just a few days after the Stolen Treasures
event.
Which new Pokémon is making its debut? Sen-Long will be making its way into the game as part of the event. This Pokémon from the 7th game generation has the types Normal and Dragon. The shiny variant will also be available in the game.

What bonuses will be active during the event? During the event, four bonuses will be active. They are as follows:
- Increased chance of receiving lucky Pokémon through trades
- Increased chance to become lucky friends
- Additional candies for nice, great, and fabulous throws
- Increased chance of XL candies for nice, great, and fabulous throws (from level 31)
What challenge will there be during the event? There will be a global challenge while the event takes place. All trainers of the game must work together to land 1,000,000,000 good throws to successfully complete the challenge. If this is achieved, besides a festive fireworks display, new wild Pokémon will be activated until the end of the event.
Additionally, exclusive attacks will be unlocked for certain Pokémon, which they can learn when they evolve during the event. Which Pokémon these are has not yet been revealed.
