In the Pokémon anime series, the gyms often had a specific theme that was reflected in Pokémon, gym leaders, and decor. For example, we remember Misty’s Water Gym, which she defended with Water-type Pokémon like Staryu.
In Pokémon GO, gyms have been rather boring to look at in recent months, as you always found the same defenders (Shoutouts to all Snorlax out there). Since the major gym update, fans are now forming cute gym teams and showcasing the beautiful sides of the gyms.
Cute Teams as an Alternative to the Boring Meta
Before the major gym update in Pokémon GO, you often saw the same (Pokémon) faces in the gyms. The aforementioned Snorlax was part of the standard set of gym monsters alongside Lapras and Dragonite.
In the new gym system, however, only one monster per species can now be stationed in the gym. This brings fresh air into the selection of Pokémon defenders, where trainers can now get creative. Whether the Eevee evolution family is ready for the group photo or a squad appears with the motto “Pink is the new Black” as a defense group – There are many new (cute) line-ups to see.

In the mentioned “Pokémon GO Singapore” group, this group could also be found. A pink or rose-colored team welcomes attackers in this gym in a loving manner.
