In Pokémon GO, the very effective week is currently running. For our author Noah, however, this event is simply bad and he does not understand what Niantic was thinking.
This is the very effective week: This event primarily focuses on battles. There are more potions and revives from PokéStops and spawns in the wild that are aimed at Trainer and Rocket battles.
So far, everything sounds interesting, but I find the implementation catastrophic. Rarely has there been an event in Pokémon GO that has bored me so much.
Almost everything is going wrong in this event
What bothers me about the spawns: Niantic announced good Pokémon against other Trainers and Team GO Rocket. The reality is quite different. Kramurx, Teddiursa, and Flemmli are sitting on every corner. The evolutions are all rather useless against Team GO Rocket and there are definitely better Pokémon against other Trainers.
In general, I wonder who enjoys catching such Pokémon. Quiekel and Flemmli have both already had a Community Day. Most players probably have an abundance of shinies from them. Kramurx has no place in an event, after all, it sits at every corner even outside of events.
Sensible spawns are only Nebulak, Machollo, and Tentacha. All 3 are far too rare in my opinion, and especially Tentacha should occur more frequently. After all, it was first introduced as shiny.
What hurts me the most: I like to catch many Pokémon. However, my balls are significantly impacted by this event. Hardly any Pokémon stays in a normal Pokéball during this event. Instead, I struggle against 1200 CP Kramurx and 800 CP Flemmli, and often even a Hyper Ball is not enough.
Is there a mistake here? I understand that the focus of the event should be on battles. More potions and revives were announced for this purpose. I already find that ridiculous since I regularly throw away masses of them. However, there are certainly other players who need more of them.
However, there are really no more potions and revives from the stops. You can tell there is a difference, especially with the normal potions. The important potions (Hyper and Top Potions) are not increased in availability.
There could have been more potential here: It almost seems lazy that Niantic only introduced a new field research for this event. While it is quite okay and with shiny Tentacha, there is a good incentive to complete it, much more could have been done.
Other Pokémon could have been included in the quests and further tasks around battling could have been introduced for this week.
These Pokémon I would have wished for: Above all, I would never have included any Pokémon from Community Days in an event. These will all come back next month and one does not get excited about a shiny Flemmli.
Conversely, effective Pokémon against the grunts and other trainers could have been introduced. I’m thinking of Wablu, Panzaeron, Schilterus, or Meditie. These should not only be in raids. However, a Lucario could fit well into a raid.
What are the alternatives? These are currently very weak. There is no good raid boss with Kobalium and the reduced special candies do not favor many raids.
Constant battles against Team Rocket cannot be the point and it gets pretty cold when you’re standing around all the time. One should also walk around and catch Pokémon, but this is really difficult and demotivating with the current spawns.
Now I hope this event will be over quickly and the upcoming events in November will be more fun.
