The Pokémon GO Community Day in January 2025 is known. We look at the content and the star of the day: Felori.
When is the Community Day? The Community Day featuring Felori will take place on January 5, 2025, which is a Sunday. It runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Which Pokémon will appear? You will encounter Felori, the Grass-type starter Pokémon from the Paldea region. It can evolve into Feliospa and Maskagato.
This Pokémon will appear everywhere in the game during the three hours and also has an increased shiny chance. In addition, there are various bonuses. We summarize them here and see if Felori is worth it.
All bonuses of the Community Day in January 2025 with Felori
As expected from the Community Day, a few bonuses will be added to make the day more exciting. Notably, this time it seems that no level 4 raids are planned to take place after the actual event. So there seems to be a change in 2025.
However, the following bonuses are available:
- Significantly increased shiny chance for Felori
- Special background for the season “Dual Destiny” for Felori, if you are lucky
- The move Flora-Statue when you evolve Feliospa into Maskagato (valid for up to 5 hours after the event)
- You can teach Maskagato the charge move “Flower Trick.” It deals 30 damage in Trainer battles and 75 damage in Raid battles.
- There will be a special research in the shop that will cost 2 US dollars (likely similar in Germany).
- A time-limited research task that you will receive when you log in during the Community Day. In this, you will get a Felori with a special background. But it must be completed by January 12 at 10:00 PM.
- Triple catch Stardust
- Double catch candies
- The chance for XL candies when catching is doubled (from Trainer level 31)
- Lure modules and incense last 3 hours
- Snapshot surprises
- An additional special trade
- 50% less Stardust cost when trading
Additionally, there are field research tasks and showcases for Felori.
Is the Community Day with Felori worth it?
As it stands, neither Felori, Feliospa, nor Maskagato are outstanding attackers. Maskagato is acceptable as a Grass attacker with Flora-Statue, but there are stronger alternatives among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. Moreover, its new move, Flower Trick, does not seem particularly powerful at first.
So for fighters, the day is rather negligible. Nevertheless, the increased shiny chance during the Community Day is actually always a must for collectors, as you can secure a shiny specimen quite easily here. The new backgrounds for collectors may also be exciting.
Notably, there are changes in the research tasks. The optional, paid special research in the shop has slightly increased in price and, according to the announcement, will not include a story anymore. It contains items like a premium battle pass, an XL candy, and three Felori with a special background.
However, new is the free, time-limited research, which you can also complete for a week after the Community Day. How exactly it will be structured remains to be seen.
However, the bonus from the C-Day is always worth it. The triple Stardust is useful as it is needed to level up Pokémon or learn additional moves. The double catch candies are also helpful and apply to all other Pokémon during this time – for example, Raid bosses. But there is still a bit of time until January.
