In Pokémon GO there is now a ticket for the “Pokémon GO Tour: Johto”. At the same time, the most important information about the event has been released. We show you what to expect.
When does the Johto Tour take place? The main date for the Johto Tour is Saturday, February 26, 2022. On this day, the global event runs from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM local time.
In addition to that, there is February 27, 2022. Here, trainers can participate in a live event “in selected cities” according to the blog post to encounter monsters from the Kanto region – as a tribute to the original Johto games, at the end of which you also arrived in Kanto. More information will follow soon.
Therefore, the actual Johto Tour does not last for two days but only on Saturday.
This is how it works with the ticket: The Johto Tour is once again an event for which you can purchase a ticket from now on. You can get it in the shop for 11.99 euros.
- If you get the ticket by Monday, January 10, you will also receive a Limited Research for the current season research in January and February.
- If you purchase the ticket afterwards, but by February 10, 2022, you will only receive the research for February.
Furthermore, the ticket offers various bonuses, just like the Kanto Tour, that you can receive during the event. There will also be free content again.

All contents of the Johto Tour with ticket
What kind of event is it? Basically, the monsters of the Johto region are in the foreground – of course. They will all appear in the game over the course of the event. Among others:
- In the wild
- In raids
- In encounters after research tasks
- They hatch from eggs
- They are attracted by incense
You can choose one of two versions if you have the ticket:
- The Gold Edition
- The Silver Edition
Depending on the variant, you will then receive specific Pokémon (more about the spawns can be found below).
Special Research: You will gain access to a special research, at the end of which there will be an encounter with Celebi. This was previously part of a major research, even as a shiny.
- However, you can unlock a special event attack if you catch Celebi during the Johto Tour.
- Additionally, after completing the special research, you will gain access to another “Masterpiece” research.
We already know this from the Kanto Tour: The Masterpiece research lasted a long time and promised a shiny Mew at the end.
What will be included this time is still unknown. More information is expected to follow soon.
What spawns are there for the Johto Tour?
Here you will find all the information about the spawns of the event.
- Basically, all Johto monsters will appear.
- There will be a shiny chance for all of them, so previously unreleased shinies will also appear in the game. Trainers had also wished for this for the event.
- Icognito G, O, T, U, R and J will be attracted by incense.
- Additionally, depending on the edition, different monsters will be attracted by incense.
Which monsters are there per edition? Depending on which edition you choose, you can encounter special monsters. There are some that are exclusive to encounter, and others where you have a higher shiny chance.
Gold Edition:
- Exclusive by incense: Webarak, Skorgla, Teddiursa, and Mantax
- Increased shiny chance: Endivie, Feurigel, Karnimani, Webarak, Fluffeluff, Natu, Hoppspross, Sonnkern, Traunfugil, Woingenau, Skorgla, Pottrott, Teddiursa, Quiekel, Mantax, and Ho-Oh.
Silver Edition:
- Exclusive by incense: Ledyba, Botogel, Panzaeron, and Phanpy
- Increased shiny chance: Endivie, Feurigel, Karnimani, Ledyba, Pii, Mogelbaum, Hoppspross, Yanma, Tannza, Botogel, Panzaeron, Hunduster, Phanpy, Miltank, Larvitar, and Lugia.

Contents of the Johto Tour without a ticket – with regional monsters
What is available without a ticket? Even without a ticket, you will notice the effects of the Johto Tour.
- On one hand, there will be more Johto spawns in the wild, as well as in raids and 7km eggs.
- Additionally, the regional monsters of the Johto region, such as Corasonn, will be available globally in raids. You can of course challenge them with a ticket.
- Pichu, Pii, Fluffeluff, and Togepi will hatch from 2km eggs.
- And there will be a limited research on trainer battles.
However, there are still a few weeks until the Johto Tour. Currently, a Dragon event is running in Pokémon GO, where you can encounter the new monster Shardrago among others. You can find the right counters against Shardrago here.
