In Pokémon GO today marks the start of the Easter event 2020. New Shinys, egg bonuses, and hat Pokémon are waiting for you. Here is the overview.
When does the Easter event start? It will begin today, April 8, at 8:00 AM local time. You can enjoy the bonuses for a whole week, and the event will end next Thursday, April 16, at 10:00 PM local time.
We will reveal whether the Spring event is worth it in this article.
All information about the Easter event 2020
What bonuses are there? The list of bonuses is long. You can look forward to the following:
- Wild Owei, Chaneira, Voltilamm, Marill, and Flemmli will appear more frequently
- Shiny Owei is making its debut in the game
- Haspiror with a flower crown and Pikachu with a flower hat will appear in the wild for the first time – also as Shiny
- From 2 km eggs, the following Pokémon will hatch: Pichu and Togepi with a flower crown, Wonneira, Mampfaxo, Rabauz, Klingplim, and Riolu
- In gifts, you will only find 2 km eggs
- You will find Pokémon like Alolan Kokowei, Azumarill, and Ohrdoch in field research
- The shop has new avatar items themed around Togepi
- Double candy when hatching Pokémon
- Lucky eggs last for one hour
What can be said about the spawns? The announced Pokémon promise many Shiny checks. Only Marill cannot normally be found as Shiny. However, there could be a change here, since recently you could also catch Shiny Mogelbaum, which was previously not possible.
Chaneira is likely to be particularly interesting. This Pokémon has been Shiny since the Valentine’s Day event 2020 and is quite rare outside of events. So, you might have good chances of getting a rare Shiny.
The hat Pokémon have a certain collector’s value again, and you should at least secure a specimen of each.
Shiny Owei will also be interesting as a new Shiny. You will easily recognize it, as it is golden instead of pink.
This bonus is active anyway: Due to the Corona crisis, the distance for hatching eggs has been halved for several weeks. This bonus will also remain during the Spring event. For 2 km eggs, you will only need to walk one kilometer.
Should one take advantage of the event? The weather is likely to be good, and the bonuses are indeed interesting. However, you should remember that there are still restrictions on going out due to the coronavirus. So, it’s better to play from home, as this works very well with the increased spawns and improved incense.
You can even hatch eggs from home. So, you can easily take advantage of this bonus.
Otherwise, there could already be remote raids for the Easter event. Data miners have already found a suitable raid pass, and it could start soon.
