These are the best counters against Vesprit
The legendary Pokémon Vesprit belongs to Generation 4 and is a Psychic-type. It has weaknesses against Ghost, Dark, and Bug types. Therefore, Ghost and Dark Pokémon are especially good choices. You should use the following Pokémon:
- Mega-Gengar with Lick and Shadow Ball
- Mega-Hundemon with Snarl and Foul Play
- (Crypto-) Snibunna with Snarl and Foul Play
- (Crypto-) Despotar with Bite and Crunch
- (Crypto-) Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball
- Skelabra with Curse and Shadow Ball
- Mega-Gyarados with Bite and Crunch
- Darkrai with Snarl and Shadow Ball
- (Crypto-) Hundemon with Snarl and Foul Play
- Giratina Origin Forme with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
- (Crypto-) Kramshef with Snarl and Dark Pulse
- (Crypto-) Absol with Snarl and Dark Pulse
- (Crypto-) Traunmagil with Curse and Shadow Ball
More solid counters: While not the best counters, Bug-type Pokémon are at least a solid choice. They simply don’t have as strong stats as Ghost and Dark Pokémon, but can still be used effectively.
Here is a list of additional good counters that almost every trainer likely has:
- (Crypto-) Pinsir with Bug Bite and X-Scissor
- (Crypto-) Scherox with Fury Cutter and X-Scissor
- Gengar with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball
- Torhaido with Bite and Crunch
- Mega-Bibor with Bug Bite & X-Scissor
These Pokémon you should not use: Some Pokémon deal very little damage against Vesprit, so you should not use them. This includes Lugia or Stolloss.
Also a poor choice are Fighting-type Pokémon like Machomei, as Vesprit is very effective against them. The same goes for Poison Pokémon.

This is how strong Vesprit can be from the raid: The Psychic Pokémon can have a maximum of 1747 CP in raids. In windy weather, it can even reach 2184 CP. This would be a Vesprit with 100% IV.
How many players do I need for Vesprit? You can defeat the Pokémon relatively easily in a group of three with the best counters and a good friendship level. If you don’t have such a high level yet, we recommend about 5-6 players for Vesprit.
Is there Shiny Vesprit? Yes, you can encounter Vesprit in its shiny form with a bit of luck. You can recognize it by its golden body.
Is it worth raiding for Vesprit? The legendary Pokémon is not among the best attackers. It is a solid Pokémon, but faces too much competition among Psychic attackers. A detailed analysis of Vesprit’s strength has already been published for you.
You can still catch Vesprit in the wild: The lake trio was already released in the wild. There you can still catch the Pokémon, depending on their region. However, they should be very rare there.
