Lugia returns as a raid boss in Pokémon GO for about 10 days. We show you how to counter it.
Update November 5, 2020: Lugia returns to raids again, this time without Ho-Oh. We have updated the counters and listed the top 3 here in the article. You can find the best attackers in our counter guide against Lugia from 2020.
This week: As Niantic announced, the legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-Oh are returning to raids. You can challenge them once again this weekend.
When do the raids start? The event runs starting Friday, December 20, at 10 PM German time. However, the raids in Germany will be over by then. Therefore, for all German players, they will start on Saturday. You can challenge Lugia and Ho-Oh until Monday, December 23, at 10 PM.
What is special? You can catch both Pokémon in their shiny form. Players speculate whether the exclusive moves for both Pokémon will also be released this weekend. Lugia has the move Aeroblast in the console games, and Ho-Oh has the move Sacred Fire. These moves might also be released in Pokémon GO. So far, this is just speculation.
