Together with the release of the 4th generation in Pokémon GO, there are also three new regional Pokémon. We will show you where to find them.
Three new regional Pokémon: Since Tuesday afternoon when the first 26 Pokémon of the 4th generation were released, a lot is happening in Pokémon GO. Three of the new Pokémon are region-specific. Pachirisu, Plaudagei, and Venuflibis cannot be caught everywhere in the world.
What are regional Pokémon? Regional Pokémon only appear in certain areas of the world. They have existed since the 1st generation. For instance, Pantimos is a Pokémon that can only be caught in Europe. On the other hand, Tauros can only be caught in North America. Now there are three more such Pokémon.
Here you can catch the new regional Pokémon
Bad news for all Germans: Unfortunately, there are none of the new regional Pokémon to catch in Germany and Europe.
Pachirisu
Where can you catch Pachirisu? The little squirrel can be found everywhere in Canada, Alaska, and part of Russia. It seems to have settled around the Arctic. It has not been sighted south of the 52nd parallel. South of this parallel, Tauros spawns. So, this latitude seems to serve as a boundary.
Not in Europe: However, there are no reports from Europe that Pachirisu has been sighted, even though some parts of the continent lie north of the 52nd parallel.
Venuflibis
Where can you catch Venuflibis? This Pokémon has only a small area in which it appears. Only a few states in the USA and the Bahamas have reported this Pokémon so far. It seems that the state lines are taken as a boundary.
On the following map, you can see where trainers have caught and reported Venuflibis so far.

Plaudagei
Where can you catch Plaudagei? The colorful parrot cannot be caught everywhere either. The boundary here is likely the line between the northern and southern hemispheres. Everything that belongs to the southern hemisphere houses Plaudagei, including countries like South Africa, Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand.
We will show you a map of the southern hemisphere. There, the parrot can most likely be caught everywhere.

You can find the list of previous regional Pokémon here.
In the upcoming weeks, the list of catching areas for these Regionals from Gen. 4 will be refined. Now waiting for reports from trainers.
Which Pokémon are you most looking forward to from the 4th generation?
