Next weekend, the GO Fest in Dortmund starts from Pokémon GO. But is a trip to Dortmund worth it, even if you don’t have a ticket? What will there be outside the GO Fest?
This is the GO Fest: Next weekend, from July 4th to July 7th, the big GO Fest in Dortmund will take place. Various rare event Pokémon will spawn in the grounds of Westfalenpark, and a new special research awaits the trainers.
Access to the park and the event is only available with a ticket. You would have had to register and pay for a ticket to participate.
But what if you don’t have a ticket? Is the trip still worth it and can you access the GO Fest grounds?
GO Fest without a ticket – Is it possible?
Can you access the grounds? The entire Westfalenpark is closed off and there is no access to the grounds. Even if you manage to get onto the grounds, it brings no advantage, as the spawns are only activated for players who bought a ticket that day. Therefore, you won’t see any spawns or special PokéStops on the grounds.
This makes the trip worth it: If you still enjoy playing and are looking for a change, you will find fun in Dortmund. The entire weekend Dortmund will turn into a Pokémon Mecca, and players from all over the world will be there.
There will be a lot going on throughout the city, and you will certainly find enough hotspots to play. Additionally, a trip is worth it for the following reasons:
- Players from around the world might trade regional Pokémon with you
- Lure modules will almost continuously be activated everywhere – so you will find enough Pokémon
- Raid lobbies will likely be almost always full – so you won’t have a problem with legendary raids
This is what Niantic says about it: On the Pokémon GO website, Niantic addresses this topic again. They report that info points for players have been set up all over the city center, inviting players to linger.
An event could start: In line with the GO Fest in Chicago, there was also an event featuring rare Shinies worldwide. Such an event could also be held for the upcoming GO Fest. After all, it is highly likely that Shiny Nidoran male will be released worldwide. So a corresponding event could start.
Additionally, the Community Day featuring Bummelz will be repeated that weekend. The Normal-type Pokémon will appear more frequently over the entire weekend.
Spending the weekend in Dortmund wouldn’t be bad. You could take full advantage of the possible event and encounter various Shinies.
If you managed to get a ticket, you can look forward to these spawns:
