In Pokémon GO there is now a small but practical change that allows you to lose fewer experience points in a specific situation. We will show you what it is about.
You can increase the friendship level with your friends in Pokémon GO by sending and opening gifts with each other or by raiding together with your friends. Every day you can increase the friendship level by one point, reaching the maximum rank Best Friend
.
Increasing your friendship level brings you some bonuses that both you and your friend can benefit from. Additionally, reaching a new level gives you experience points, which correspond to a whopping 100,000 experience points when reaching the final level. And it is precisely for these experience points that there is now a small but useful change.
Small button with a big impact
What kind of change is this? When you or your friend opens a gift that increases your friendship level, you receive a notification in the game informing you of the new friendship level. Until now, you only found out which friendship level you reached with which friend and what bonuses there are for both of you.
This notification has now been adjusted. You now have the option on this screen to directly activate a lucky egg to double the experience points from the new friendship level. In the case of leveling up to Best Friend
, you can therefore receive a whopping 100,000 more experience points.

What was it like before? If you wanted to activate a lucky egg to cash in on double experience points from the friendship level increase, it was a difficult task. You had to coordinate with your friend when to open the gift so that you could activate the lucky egg just beforehand.
If you did not coordinate and your friend opened the gift without prior agreement, you only received the notification about the increase in friendship level without the opportunity to activate a lucky egg in advance. The potential double experience points were thus lost.
This could be problematic, especially if you have friends in Pokémon GO whose friend codes you only have from online platforms.
