The Community Day in October for Pokémon GO will feature Tanhel. Additionally, Niantic has increased the time for evolutions.
What’s new? Every month, an event called Community Day takes place in Pokémon GO. It’s usually active on one day of a weekend for three hours. On October 21, the event will run featuring the Psychic and Steel Pokémon Tanhel.
A new feature for evolutions is being added. Niantic listened to fan feedback and extended the time window during which you can evolve Tanhel for the special move.
Community Day with Tanhel
A few weeks ago, there was a leak announcing Tanhel as the next Pokémon for Community Day. Now Niantic has confirmed this species and is sharing the first details about the event.
What do we know about the event? The special move for Tanhel has not yet been officially revealed. However, we have the following info and bonuses:
- What? The Community Day in October
- When? On Sunday, October 21, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM German time. You need to add two hours to the time in the in-game announcement (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) because we are in the GMT+2 time zone.
- Which Pokémon? Tanhel
- Exclusive move? Unknown, but it will be learned by Metagross. The exclusive move for Metagross may be Meteor Mash – data for this has already been found in a data mining.
- What bonuses? Egg hatching distance reduced to a quarter, 3-hour lure modules
Additional bonus: You can evolve Metang for an hour after the event to obtain Metagross with the special event move. In the German in-game notification, this explanation is missing, but it is mentioned in the English announcement. For you, this means that you can also conduct your evolutions from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM to obtain Metagross with the event move.
Joy in the community: Trainers are happy about this extended evolution time window. Dronpes, head of TheSilphRoad, says: “Very nice! Now in the last 20 minutes of the event, it no longer means: Wait, don’t talk to me for a minute, I have to quickly check a million IVs and evolve.”
