In Pokémon GO, the first trainers are reporting a change to a feature that could lead to a massive improvement. We explain what it’s all about.
What kind of feature is it? The feature that is currently being found in a different form in the game by some trainers is Team Play. With this feature, you can play with your friends and benefit together.
After a recent discovery suggested a massive improvement for Team Play, it seems that this is now being tested by the first trainers. And this could mean a massive upgrade for Team Play.
One item, 4 beneficiaries
What kind of change is it? The change allows the use of the items Incense, Lucky Egg, and Star Piece in Team Play. As indicated in the discovery, the entire group can partially benefit from these items.
In the post on Reddit, the creator shows a corresponding screenshot of their Team Play overview, where one of the items can be selected and shared with the group.
If he wants to use the feature, an error message currently appears for him. It seems that the feature is not yet fully developed, which matches the fact that it is currently active only for a portion of trainers and not globally.

When will the feature be globally available? When the function will be activated for all trainers worldwide is currently unknown. The usual procedure for new features in Pokémon GO is to test them in advance with a subset of trainers.
If this test is successfully completed, the new feature will then be distributed globally to all trainers. When and if this will happen here cannot yet be definitively stated. However, it can be assumed due to the fact that the first trainers have already received the feature.
What the implementation, effect, and limitations of this feature will look like in detail cannot yet be definitively stated.
What does Niantic say about it? So far, there has been no statement from Niantic regarding the new function. It has appeared unexpectedly and without announcement among the first trainers.
What does the community say about it? A large part of the comments under the post are positive, although there are also a few critical voices.

, writes another trainer on RedditA positive change! It makes me more likely to form groups, which means I walk with a friend and play and explore more. Well done
, says another trainer on RedditThis will be very convenient for cheaters who play with multiple accounts
, a commentator notes on Reddit
Especially trainers who have not been playing for long or still need a larger amount of experience points, Stardust, or Pokémon could benefit from this feature. It remains to be seen when it will be made available to all trainers worldwide.
What do you think about it? Will this feature also motivate you to play more in groups? Or are you less interested in this function? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.
