In Pokémon GO, the weather week has started. It brings new spawns, quests, and raid bosses. A big surprise awaits trainers as Rayquaza makes its comeback.
How long does the weather week last?The event runs until March 29 at 8:00 PM. You can take advantage of the bonuses for 5 days.

Rayquaza Returns for the Raid Weekend
When does Rayquaza come back?The legendary dragon Pokémon will appear this Saturday, March 27, at 10:00 AM and will not disappear until the next day at 8:00 PM. So, you can look out for Rayquaza raids all weekend long.
What’s so special about Rayquaza?The legendary Pokémon is one of the best monsters in Pokémon GO. There is currently no better alternative among dragon attackers. So, if you’re looking for a strong attacker, you will find one here.
Additionally, Rayquaza also appears in its shiny form in the game and is thus even more popular. Shiny Rayquaza is black and looks significantly different from normal Rayquaza.
Quests and Limited Research for the Weather Week
These are the new field researches: There are a total of 6 special quests related to the weather week. We list them here:
- Catch 5 Flying-type Pokémon
- Encounter with Wablu (can be shiny)
- Catch 7 Water-type Pokémon
- Encounter with Schallquap
- Use 7 power-ups on Pokémon
- 3 Sananabeeren
- Catch 7 Pokémon of Water, Electric, or Bug type
- Encounter with Rain Formeo (can be shiny)
- Catch 7 Pokémon of Psychic, Flying, or Dragon type
- Encounter with Rain Formeo (can be shiny)
- Win 2 raids
- Encounter with Emolga
There are 2 field researches that can give you an encounter with Rain Formeo. You should also take these quests as they give you a good chance at the new shiny.

- Catch 10 Pokémon of Water, Electric, or Bug types
- Encounter with Rain Formeo*
- Take a snapshot of a Water Pokémon
- 200 Stardust
- Send 3 gifts to friends
- Encounter with Enton*
- Rewards at the end: Encounter with Wailmer*, 5 Poké Balls, and 500 XP
Weather week (2/4)
- Catch 15 Pokémon of Water, Electric, or Bug types
- Encounter with Rain Formeo*
- Use 7 power-ups on Pokémon
- 3 Sananabeeren
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts
- Encounter with Bamelin*
- Rewards at the end: Encounter with Rain Formeo*, 7 Poké Balls, and 500 XP
Weather week (3/4)
- Catch 15 Pokémon of Flying, Psychic, or Dragon types
- Encounter with Rain Formeo*
- Land 5 good curveball throws
- 600 Stardust
- Earn 5 hearts with your buddy
- Encounter with Fleknoil*
- Rewards at the end: Encounter with Schwallboss, 10 Poké Balls, and 800 XP
Weather week (4/4)
- Catch 20 Pokémon of Flying, Psychic, or Dragon types
- Encounter with Rain Formeo*
- Land 9 curveball throws in a row
- 1200 Stardust
- Evolve 3 Pokémon
- Encounter with Wablu*
- Rewards at the end: Encounter with Togetic, 12 Poké Balls, and 1200 XP
All Pokémon marked with a star will also appear in shiny form.
Which Shinys are there? There are no surprises here. Only the Rain form of Formeo has been introduced as a new shiny in the game. You can easily recognize the difference from the normal form:

These are the spawns: The spawns are divided into 2 different blocks. Until March 27, primarily Pokémon that love rain will appear in the wild. This includes Loturzel, Quapsel, and Glibunkel among others. There aren’t any major surprises here, but shiny hunters can find some Pokémon to hunt.
The spawns appearing after March 27 are also partially known. This includes Panzaeron, Schwalbini, and Dusselgurr among others. Further information on these spawns will only be available on March 27.
