On Pokémon GO, the Spring Event (Easter Event) 2021 starts on April 4th. Here we show you all the contents and which images the dataminers have already found.
What kind of event is this? A few days ago, Niantic announced the Spring Event 2021 in Pokémon GO. This will be the Easter Event taking place under this name. It lasts only a few days, but comes with a new Shiny, a new Mega Pokémon, and flower crowns.
We present an overview here of what is known about the event and what insights dataminers have already gained into the new contents.
All info on the Easter Event 2021
When does it start? The start is on Sunday, April 4th at 10:00 AM local time. You have less than a week to take advantage of the event. The Easter Event ends on Thursday, April 8th at 8:00 PM local time.
What will spawn? In the wild, you will encounter Owei, Marill, Plusle, Minun, Haspiror, and Scoppel, as well as Pikachu more frequently.
Pokémon with flower crown: This event features spawns of Pokémon that wear a flower crown. Chaneira and Pikachu can wear it in the wild. If Wonneira hatches from an egg, it can also wear a flower crown. With a bit of luck, you will encounter shiny variants of Chaneira and Wonneira.
If you evolve a Chaneira that is wearing a flower crown, Heiteira will also wear this fashionable accessory. Dataminers have already figured out what that looks like in the game. In the embedded reddit post, you can already get a picture of the flower crown Pokémon:
New 2 km eggs: If you receive 2 km eggs during the event, the following Pokémon can hatch from them: Owei, Evoli with flower crown, Pichu with flower crown, Togepi, Azurill, Haspiror, Wonneira with flower crown, Mampfaxo, Geronimatz and Scoppel.
Who is the Mega Pokémon? In recent months, Niantic has repeatedly changed the line-up of Mega Pokémon. For the Easter Event, Mega-Schlapor returns to raids for the first time. In the embedded reddit post above, you can see how the boss looks.
3 bonuses accompany the event
What bonuses are these? In addition to these new contents, there are bonuses that are active during all 4 days. These mainly revolve around eggs, but also help in earning experience points.
- For hatching eggs, you will receive twice as many candies
- Eggs will be hatched twice as quickly during the event
- Lucky eggs will remain active for a whole hour instead of just half an hour
To take advantage of the bonus with the incubators, you should not start too early. The half distance to hatch only counts for eggs placed in the incubator after the event starts. If you already had eggs in the incubators beforehand, they will not reduce their distance after the event starts.
