In Pokémon GO starts the “Winter Holidays” event with the debut of Flaniwal and Kolowal. There are also costumes and bonuses to collect.
When do the Winter Holidays take place? The event is divided into two parts. Part 1 runs from Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM to Monday, December 25, 2023 at 8:00 PM.

These are the highlights: As hinted in an initial teaser, Flaniwal will debut in Pokémon GO. It is a small ice-type whale that lives on land. Its evolution Kolowal will also appear in the game.
To evolve it, you need 50 Flaniwal candies. Flaniwal appears in the wild and in level-1 raids. Here’s how they look:
For collectors, there are again costumed Pokémon to catch.
- Pikachu in holiday clothes appears in the wild and in level-1 raids
- Raichu in holiday clothes can be evolved
- Evoli with holiday hat is in the wild as well as in 2km eggs
- Damhirplex in holiday outfit is in the wild and in level 3 raids
- Seemops with holiday scarf is in the wild and in level-1 raids
- Glaziola with underwater holiday outfit can be found in level-3 raids

What bonuses are there? There will be a free limited research where you can choose which bonus you want:
- Double catch XP
- Or double catch stardust
In addition, there will be more XP and stardust for opening gifts.
Research with paid tickets: There will also be two limited researches that can be bought in the shop. They apply to both parts of the Winter Holidays event.
A 2-euro ticket will give you encounters with Seemops with holiday scarf, Frigometri and a new Enton with holiday clothing in Part 1 of the event. Plus, there are two premium battle passes. In Part 2, there will be more encounters with holiday Enton and holiday Petznief, as well as another 2 premium battle passes.
There’s also a 5-euro ticket, which includes an event avatar pose, double catch candies, and encounters with costumed holiday Pikachu, holiday Botogel, and holiday Enton.
