Today marks the start of the 3rd week of the Ultra Bonus in Pokémon GO. It brings us Shiny Mewtwo as well as the first Pokémon from Generation 5.
This is the event: A few weeks ago, diligent trainers worldwide unlocked the Ultra Bonus. They completed field research during the 3 GO Fests.
As a reward, there are 3 weeks full of bonuses. Week 1 and Week 2 are over, and now the biggest bonus week is ahead. There are new Pokémon and an absolute fan favorite: Shiny Mewtwo.
When does it start? On September 16 at 10:00 PM German time
What rewards are there? Shiny Mewtwo can be caught from raids, first Pokémon from Generation 5 are coming, regional Pokémon remain in 7 km eggs, incubators hatch twice as fast
Shiny Mewtwo from Raids – What you need to know
How will the raids change? There will be completely new raid bosses. Mewtwo will replace the forms of Deoxys in the raids, and the smaller raids will also feature different Pokémon.
For the first time, Shiny Mewtwo will also be available in the 5-star raids.
How likely is Shiny Mewtwo? So far, all legendary Pokémon have had a Shiny chance of 1 in 19. So, based on probability, one should be able to find a Shiny in 19 raids.
Take this opportunity: This Wednesday, September 18, there will also be a raid hour with Mewtwo. Starting at 6 PM, you will find a Mewtwo raid in almost all gyms.
How long will Mewtwo stay? So far, Mewtwo has only been announced for one week. It is expected to disappear from the raids on September 23 at 10 PM. However, who the successor will be is not yet known.
First Pokémon from Generation 5 – What’s coming?
This is what to expect: Niantic talks about first Pokémon from Generation 5 in their announcement. There will also be 3 new Shinys. These Pokémon are already known, also as Shiny:
- Klikk (probably only in raids)
- Nagelotz
- Yorkleff
Additionally, Niantic teased various Pokémon in recent days. They spoke about:
- Serpifeu
- Floink
- Ottaro
- Makabaja
We will have to see if these monsters actually come out today evening, but one can expect it.
The 5th generation will also bring a lot of commotion in the top attackers, as there are many strong Pokémon. We will keep you updated here on MeinMMO tomorrow morning about the new Pokémon and potential meta changes.
