The Mega Raid Day “Heading to Hoenn” starts in Pokémon GO on December 3. Here we show you an overview of everything about the start, bonuses and additional contents of the event.
What kind of event is this? This raid day revolves around the starter Pokémon from the Hoenn region. The release of Mega-Grovyle, Mega-Blaziken, and Mega-Swampert is the highlight of the event. There are also special attacks, increased shiny chances, and more raid passes as bonuses.

Mega Raid Day: Heading to Hoenn
When does it start? The event starts today, Saturday, December 3, at 2:00 PM and is active until 5:00 PM.
Which new Pokémon are there? You will encounter Mega-Grovyle, Mega-Blaziken, and Mega-Swampert for the first time.
During the raid day event, you will primarily encounter these three Pokémon in raids. To help you easily win the battles, we have created the counter guides:

What bonuses are active? During the event, you can enjoy the following bonuses:
- If you catch Grovyle, it will know the charged attack Leaf Tornado
- If you catch Swampert, it will know the charged attack Hydro Cannon
- If you catch Blaziken, it will know the charged attack Blast Burn
- The chances of encountering shiny Grovyle, Swampert, and Blaziken are increased
- If you spin gyms for photo discs during the event, you will receive up to 5 additional free raid passes
Optional Ticket: If you wish, you can purchase an event ticket for the price of 5 dollars. With this, you will receive the following bonuses on December 3 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM:
- Six additional raid passes for spinning photo discs at gyms (so a total of 12 on this day)
- 50% more XP for raid battles
- Increased chances of XL candy
- Double the stardust for raid battles
