The Raid Day on May 6 brings the new Pokémon Axantor to Pokémon GO. You will have the first chance to catch it. We will show you what to expect at the event.
What is the highlight? The Raid Day revolves completely around the release of the axe Pokémon Axantor. Right at its release, you will even have the chance to catch the Pokémon in its shiny form. The Pokémon comes from the Hisui region of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Raid Day Axantor: Start, Shiny, Bonuses
When is the start and end? The Raid Day takes place today, Saturday, May 6. It starts at 11:00 AM local time. The event will be active for a few hours and ends at 2:00 PM.
Where can you catch Axantor and Shiny Axantor? You will find the new Pokémon during the event in level 3 raids. You have the chance to catch Axantor as a shiny after the raid.
Can you evolve Scyther into Axantor? Actually, you can evolve Scyther into Axantor. However, that is not yet possible in Pokémon GO. At the moment, raid battles are the only way to obtain the Pokémon. When Niantic unlocks the evolution path is still completely unclear.
Nonetheless, it’s not a bad idea to secure strong (Crypto) Scyther and wait until the evolution for Axantor is released.
What bonuses are there? During the event time from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the following bonuses will be active for you (unless stated otherwise):
- Raids with Axantor happen more frequently
- The chances of shiny Axantor are increased
- During the event and up to two hours after, you can get up to 5 additional daily raid passes by spinning photo discs at gyms
- From 00:00 to 23:59 on May 6, the limit for remote raids will be increased to 10
When Axantor will return to Pokémon GO after this Raid Day is still unclear.
Can you defeat Axantor solo? Yes! You will encounter the new Pokémon in level 3 raids. If you have the correct counters on your side, a solo fight against Axantor is no problem at all.
