Today, on September 10th, the Pokémon GO Piepi event is taking place under the moonlight. We will show you what’s happening.
What kind of event is it? A few weeks ago, Niantic announced the Piepi event. It is relatively small event that is active for only a few hours in the evening.
What happens during it? Wild Piepi will appear more frequently during the event. You have a chance to find and catch shiny Piepi. However, the chances of finding shiny forms are not increased during the event.

When does it run? The Piepi event runs today, Saturday, September 10th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM local time.
What do the Shiny look like? Although there is no official announcement from Niantic that the chances of shinies are increased, trainers hope that this bonus is simply not mentioned. If you are looking for a shiny variant, you can already get an idea from the graphic below.
What is special about the event? Even at the announcement, players noticed that the bonuses of the event are very low. At first glance, only more Piepi are supposed to spawn in the wild.
Nevertheless, trainers are excited (via reddit) about the event because it does something different from the previously known short events: The time window.
The time from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM suits some trainers better because they have less to do in the evening hours. Other events that are only active for a few hours take place earlier in the day, such as the Community Day in September, which is active from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
