In Pokémon GO today, on February 1, 2022, the Lunar New Year event starts. It brings you Shiny Leufeo for the first time. What you can expect in the short week is shown here.
When does the Lunar New Year event run? The Lunar New Year begins in Pokémon GO on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until Monday, February 7, 2022, at 8:00 PM. This gives you about a week to secure the bonuses of the event.
The event is mainly about the theme of “Luck,” but it also has something for trainers who are particularly on the hunt for shiny Pokémon.
Leufeo as the new Shiny and bonuses for teamwork
What bonuses does the Lunar New Year bring? Much revolves around the theme of “Luck,” and collaboration can be worthwhile.
- You have an increased chance of lucky Pokémon when you trade with each other.
- Furthermore, it is more likely that you will become lucky friends – this way, you can receive a guaranteed lucky trade.
- You can also have one extra special trade per day.
Trading can be particularly worthwhile right now – but even outside of events trading in Pokémon GO should not be underestimated.
Additionally, you will receive double Stardust for opening gifts. So send plenty of packages to receive some in return.
New Shiny: One of the most exciting spawns in the event is the Pokémon Leufeo, which you can catch for the first time as Shiny during the Lunar New Year week. The small lion has not been available in its shiny variant until now.
What else spawns? Also, the new Hisui-Voltobal is still around, but not as Shiny.
Moreover, other Pokémon are lurking in the wild, many of which you can encounter as Shiny. However, note: There is no bonus on the shiny rate; the shiny monsters are as rare as usual.
We will show you which monsters appear more frequently during the event here. Pokémon that can also appear as shiny are marked with a star (*).
