The Light Festival in Pokémon GO is coming. We show you all the content, bonuses, and new monsters you can get.
When does the Light Festival take place? The Light Festival starts on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM and ends on Sunday, November 12, at 8:00 PM. It is the second major Pokémon GO event in November after the “Día de Muertos”.
What kind of event is this? The winter is here, the days are getting shorter, and it is getting darker outside. With the Light Festival, Pokémon GO apparently wants to counteract this, as everything revolves around luminous Pokémon.
What bonuses are there? The following bonuses apply during the event:
- Double Stardust for hatching Pokémon
- Double Hatch Candy
- Incense lasts twice as long, but does not apply to the daily adventure incense
- A limited research task will be active, which gives you a shirt for your avatar
Additionally, a new monster will debut, as well as a new shiny. We will summarize all the content here.
What can you catch at the Light Festival?
This is the new Pokémon: As soon as the event starts, you can secure the Electric Pokémon Blipp. It comes from the ninth generation of games and has an evolution: Wampitz. You can trigger the evolution using 50 candies.

This is the new shiny: The mushroom Pokémon Bubungus will appear as a shiny for the first time. It belongs to the types Plant and Fairy. It can evolve into Lamellux.
