In Pokémon GO the next event “A Wise Hero” is coming up. We summarize what bonuses you can expect here.
When does the event run? “A Wise Hero” starts on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM local time. It runs until Monday, April 17, 2023 at 8:00 PM. So you have nearly five days to take advantage of the event’s bonuses.
What kind of event is it? Blanche from the Wisdom Team needs your help with this event, which will mainly focus on the theme of “Development”. There will be some corresponding research tasks. Additionally, a special Lapras will play a role.

All bonuses for the event “A Wise Hero” in Pokémon GO
Special research with Lapras: You can pick up new special research during the event. Blanche will guide you through this quest, at the end of which you are to receive a special Lapras. It has a small bow on its head.
The Lapras can also appear as Shiny. Niantic emphasizes in the announcement that this special accessory Lapras can only be obtained through the special research during the current season.
So you have exactly one chance at the Shiny version of this bow Lapras. Whether the shiny variant appears is, as usual, up to luck.
Development bonuses: The event revolves around the theme of “Development”. Corresponding field researches focusing on developing and catching Pokémon will be available at the event, granting you stardust and development items.
Additionally, there will be a limited research with a magnet lure module as a reward. You will also need this to develop certain Pokémon.
Furthermore, there are other bonuses related to development:
- 2 guaranteed XL candies for developing Pokémon
- Double development XP
- 3 hours of lasting lure modules
Especially the 2 guaranteed XL candies per development should be exciting for many trainers, as this allows them to obtain the necessary candies to improve their monsters beyond level 40.
