In Pokémon GO, players can earn significant bonuses over the weekend. The GO Battle Day invites duels. What does the event bring?
The upcoming weekend is all about the GO Battle League in Pokémon GO. In this PvP mode, the “GO Battle Day” is being held – actually spanning two days, during which you should compete against other trainers and their monsters.
When is the GO Battle Day? The Battle Day starts on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 00:00 local time, and runs until Sunday, January 15, at 23:59 local time. This means you’ll have the whole weekend available for the event.
Pokémon for the Battle Day: Want to build a team for the Battle Day? Here you can find strong monsters for all three battle leagues for the event.
How does the Battle Day work? Over the weekend, you can complete 20 battle sets per day instead of the usual 5 per day. Each battle set consists of 5 battles.
Thus, there is the opportunity to participate in 100 battles per day. The Super League, Hyper League, and Master League will be available.
That’s a lot of matches, and it might seem uninteresting for players who haven’t delved into PvP in Pokémon GO so far. However, this weekend could be a good time to at least take a look. Because there are great bonuses.
Why the Battle Day is worthwhile – even if you haven’t played PvP before
A good argument for the Battle Day this weekend is that all three leagues will be available. The Super League allows only monsters up to 1,500 CP, the Hyper League up to 2,500, and the Master League has no restrictions.
You can freely decide in which class you want to try yourself and can assemble teams from the monsters you have – regardless of whether they are weak or strong. Furthermore, there are bonuses to grab.
These are the bonuses: For each victory during the event, you will receive four times the amount of Stardust. You can always use it well to level up your monsters or teach them new moves. A great opportunity to gather dust.
Additionally, there will be a Limited Research during the weekend that provides bonuses.
These include:
- XP
- Special Candies
- A Charged TM
- Rings in the style of Troy Trumm for your avatar. Troy Trumm is the champ from the Ruby & Sapphire games.
The research could help with XP in upgrading your trainer level and also brings special candies and at least once the opportunity to secure a strong move with the Charged TM.
Moreover, there is also the Limited GO Battle League research apart from the Battle Day, for which you can pick up a free ticket in the shop. This rewards you with extra Stardust for every 10 battles won.
If you are generally not a fan of PvP, you might not be convinced by the bonuses either. But if you’ve always considered taking a closer look at the mode, then this weekend is a good time.
Lastly, an interesting glitch recently made the rounds: Players were battling in the PvP League and obtained individual victories but suddenly had victories credited in the triple-digit range.
