The next season in Pokémon GO is the Season of Light. An initial official video shows what trainers can look forward to. What new Pokémon will be shown?
What’s new? On Sunday morning, August 28th, the Pokémon GO team released a short video on social media to prepare trainers for the next season. It’s called the Season of Light and starts on September 1st.
The video already reveals some of the upcoming content. We will show you the video and the details here.
Season of Light starting September 1st
This is the video: The video lasts only about 21 seconds. On Twitter, it is described as “Light or shadow, sun or moon. There is still much to discover in the universe. Get the flashlights out, trainers. The #SeasonOfLight begins soon.” You can see the video in the embedded tweet:
This is what happened so far: After the big finale of the GO Fest on Saturday, August 27th, a surprise event featuring Sonnfel and Lunastein started in Pokémon GO. The two Pokémon visually resemble a sun and a moon. Trainers suspected that Niantic was hinting at the next season with this. Similar hints were seen during the Alola season, where suddenly Alola-Kokowei populated the map.
This is seen in the video: The video hints at four Pokémon that will apparently play a role in the new season.

In recent days, dataminers have already announced finds of the next Pokémon. These four Pokémon were specifically named in the leak. Along with texts from Professor Willow, who was surrounded by a protective presence in Ultra Space.
