In Pokémon GO a new event has started around Team GO Rocket. For the first time, Shiny Meowth and additional spawns related to the villains will be introduced.
How long does the event last? The event started yesterday at 10 PM. It lasts exactly one week and ends on November 14 at 10 PM.
During the event period, there will be increased spawns of Pokémon related to Team GO Rocket and a new Shiny will be introduced.

What are the bonuses? The list of bonuses is not long, but you can immediately see that an event is taking place by looking at the spawns:
- Rattata, Meowth, and Spoink appear more frequently in the wild
- Shiny Meowth can be found in the game for the first time
- New raid bosses revolving around Team GO Rocket can be found
- 5 new Crypto-Pokémon are in the game
This is Shiny Meowth: The shiny version of Meowth is not that easy to recognize. The shiny has a slightly darker body, and especially the feet and ears are red instead of brown.
Meowth can also be caught as a shiny Crypto-Pokémon. Additionally, Sneasel and Scyther also appear as shiny Crypto. All 3 Pokémon can only be obtained by defeating the new Rocket bosses.
What about new raid bosses? Niantic has announced new bosses, but initially, the old bosses continue to appear. However, players are now reporting that they are finding new Pokémon as raid bosses.

Which Crypto-Pokémon are new? In total, there are 5 new Cryptos in battles with the Rocket Grunts waiting for you. These are:
- Sandshrew
- Budew
- Magneton
- Porygon
- Woobat
