The Rivals Week in Pokémon GO has begun! We are showing you all the quests, spawns, and the global challenge that awaits you.
How long does the Rivals Week last? The event is now active and will run until April 18 at 8:00 PM. You have almost 6 days in total.
At the start of the event, several things were revealed. This includes information about new field research, raid bosses, and the global challenge that is active.
Global Challenge and New Quests for Rivals Week
This is the global challenge: If you check your app in the Today tab, you will find a global challenge. Trainers worldwide must complete a total of 40 million raids within 9000 minutes, which is over 6 days. If that is achieved, double catch stardust will be unlocked.
These are the new quests: In total, there are 5 new field researches you can complete. These include:
- Catch 3 Fighting-type Pokémon
- 2 Hyper Potions, 3 Super Potions, or a Revive
- Catch 6 Fighting-type Pokémon
- Encounter with Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee (both can be Shiny)
- Catch 15 Fighting-type Pokémon
- Encounter with Sengo or Vipitis (both can be Shiny)
- Win a raid
- Encounter with Algitt or Scampisto
- Win in the GO Battle League
- 20 Mega Energy of Lopunny
Especially interesting are the quests related to Hitmonchan / Hitmonlee and Sengo / Vipitis. For these, you only need to catch Fighting-type Pokémon, which are generally common. You have the chance to obtain 4 Shinys, which are quite rare.
These are the spawns: Here in Germany, Vipitis appears in the wild. This Pokémon is actually regional and normally does not appear here. However, you will find it in Germany during the event. There are no major surprises regarding the spawns. We recommend that you especially look for Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, as these Pokémon are usually quite rare and will now appear more frequently.
