In Pokémon GO runs the event “A Mega Moment” and brings the new Mega Kangaskhan worldwide. There are also free Raid Passes and increased Shiny chances. We will show you all the content.
What kind of event is this? In Pokémon GO, the changes to Mega Pokémon and Mega Evolutions are now active worldwide. The developers celebrate this with an event that releases the new Mega Kangaskhan.
This includes changed spawns, rewards for field research, and a CP boost for Megas. In the overview, we show you all the details.
Mega Event in April – Start, End, Content
What has changed? In Pokémon GO, the new Mega Evolutions are live. The team announced a few days ago how they want to improve the Mega Evolutions. After testers were able to try the new system, the improvements are now available worldwide. The following video summarizes the changes and the new Mega system:
When does it start? On April 29th at 10:00 AM local time, the event starts. It will run for a few days and ends on Sunday, May 1st at 8:00 PM local time.
Special Raid Day: On Sunday, May 1st, a Raid Day with Mega Kangaskhan will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During the event, Mega Kangaskhan will appear more frequently in Mega Raids, and the chance to encounter Shiny Kangaskhan is increased. Additionally, during the event and up to two hours afterward, you will receive up to five free Raid Passes for spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
Changed spawns: Starting with the event, you will find Mega Raids with Kangaskhan. During the event, you will encounter selected Pokémon in the wild. All Pokémon in our list carry a star, which means you can also catch them as Shiny.

Field research: During the event, there will be special field research tasks for you, which will reward you with Mega Energy. However, you can only obtain Mega Energy for Kangaskhan from Raids against Mega Kangaskhan.
Additional bonus: Mega Pokémon receive a CP boost during the event.
