Oh no! In Pokémon GO, the Marill event with research tasks started today, on May 7th. It was supposed to begin on Sunday. Niantic has already responded to the error, and we will show you why you should play now.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? On the morning of May 7th, trainers in Pokémon GO suddenly found the tasks of the limited research featuring Marill. These were supposed to start on Sunday. As Niantic explains, a bug is responsible for the tasks being available in the game too early. However, completing them could be worthwhile for you, as you can participate in the event twice.

Limited Research with Marill – Solve it now
This is what Niantic says: On Twitter, Niantic’s support account states that the limited research with Marill is mistakenly already active. “The research will run again on Sunday, May 9th, from 08:00 AM to 10:00 PM local time” (via Twitter.com).
In addition, the team warns that the research will be reset for any trainer who participated before the official start.
This means for you: The reset of the research is good news for you because it allows you to play the event twice. If you want, you can now work on the research tasks for the Marill event and secure the rewards.
So if you have the time, you should play the event now and then again on Sunday.
What rewards are available? As you know from events with limited research, the event Pokémon is at the top of the rewards list. So you can expect plenty of encounters with Marill. Additionally, you will receive:
- Stardust
- Poké Balls
- Experience Points
- Razz Berries
- Nanab Berries
- Marill Candy
- Himself Berries
- Hyper Balls
What other issues are known? Some trainers have already managed to complete several pages of the Marill research and collect a lot of rewards.
Others report that after claiming the stage reward of the first chapter, they can no longer see any quests. We at MeinMMO have tried it and could only complete the first three quests of the research.
