In Pokémon GO the last Mega Event has started! We will show you the event details and reveal the 3 highlights of the event around Shiny Dodu.
This is the Mega Event: Today, on September 22, the event started at 8:00 AM. It is the last Mega Event of a three-week marathon in Pokémon GO.
This time it revolves around big Pokémon, Shiny Dodu, and Mega Gengar. By now, all details regarding quests and spawns are known, so we can present you the 3 major highlights of the event.
All details about the last Mega Event
These are the new quests: According to reports on TheSilphRoad, there are 3 new field research tasks in the event:
- Catch 7 different types of Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Dodu (can be Shiny)
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket Grunt
- Reward: 10 Mega Energy from Beedrill
- Evolve a Mega Beedrill
- Reward: 20 Mega Energy from Beedrill
These are the Raid Bosses: Although there were new Raid Bosses just a few days ago, the Pokémon have rotated again. The list now looks as follows:
| Raid Level | Pokémon |
| Level 1 Raid (red egg) | Rattata* Dodu* Wailmer* Trapinch* Clink* |
| Level 3 Raid (yellow egg) | Onix* Alolan Exeggutor* Pinsir* Lapras* Dragonite |
| Mega Raid (red-white egg) | Mega Venusaur* Mega Charizard X* Mega Charizard Y* Mega Blastoise* Mega Pidgeot* |
| Level 5 Raid (black egg) | Articuno |
What spawns are there? The list of spawns is long and there are quite a few exciting monsters appearing this time. Especially interesting should be Lapras, Snorlax, Dodu, Woingenau, and Alolan Exeggutor. They usually do not appear very often, and apart from Snorlax, they can all be Shiny.
These 3 things are particularly worthwhile
The event field research: There are only 3 new field researches and all 3 tasks are worthwhile. Especially the quest around Shiny Dodu is strong, because everyone wants the new Shiny, and the quest is perfectly suited for that.
The two tasks for the Mega Energy are also quite good. If you diligently pursue these tasks, you can repeatedly perform Mega Evolutions and increase your medal for these evolutions.
The rare spawns: Anyone who spends a little time at the event will surely encounter some rare Pokémon. Lapras and Snorlax are no rarity and are always cool to catch.
But other spawns are also not common. Dodu is rarely found outside of nests and events. Pokémon like Hariyama, Hitmonchan, or Hitmonlee also appear.
The extended Mega Evolutions: Until now, Mega Evolutions lasted only 4 hours. This was too little for many trainers given the effort involved.
Now Mega Evolutions last for a full 12 hours during the event period. So you have an active Mega Evolution for almost the entire day.
This is definitely worthwhile for raids. Mega Charizard is for example a strong counter against Articuno. If you want to do some Articuno raids throughout the day, then the Mega Evolution of Charizard could be a good idea.
What you should definitely check out is the new limited research. It unlocks Mega Gengar and should therefore not be neglected. If you complete it alongside the other tasks in Pokémon GO, you should have no problems finishing the task.
