In Pokémon GO a few days from now, the event “A Wise Hero” featuring Lapras will start. During the event, you’ll have the chance to catch a pretty rare Shiny.
What kind of event is this? In this short event, you are supposed to help the team leader Blanche. Bonuses revolve around experience points and XL candy. There will also be a special research task, a time-limited research task, and modified field research tasks.
Players are particularly focused on the Shiny chance, which probably won’t return anytime soon.
A Wise Hero: Event with Lapras – Start, Content, Shiny
When does the event run? The event “A Wise Hero” starts on Thursday, April 13th, at 10:00 AM local time. It will be active until Monday, April 17th, at 8:00 PM local time.
What bonuses are there?
- For evolving Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of XP
- For evolving Pokémon, you will receive two guaranteed XL candies (On Twitter, Niantic mentions one guaranteed XL candy, while in the blog post two are mentioned. It’s still unclear which number is correct. You will at least receive one guaranteed XL candy per evolution)
- Lures activated during the event will last for three hours
Rare Shiny in Special Research: In the special research of the event, you will help Blanche. If you complete the research successfully, you will encounter Lapras, which wears an accessory styled after Blanche (a bow on its head). Niantic writes, “during this season, this is only possible in this way.” And with some luck, you will receive a shiny specimen.
So you currently only have the chance to obtain a Lapras with a Blanche accessory as a Shiny during this event in this season. And each player apparently only has a single chance at this. Thus, this Lapras style could quickly become one of the rarest Shinys. This depends on how high the Shiny chances are during the event.
Further Research: New field research tasks that you will receive during the event will focus on evolving and catching Pokémon. You will be rewarded with stardust and evolution items.
In addition, a time-limited research task will be activated that rewards you with a Magnet Lure Module.
