In Pokémon GO, the event “Stay on the Pokéball” for the GO Tour starts this week. We show you the new Pokémon and bonuses, as well as content that you should take advantage of for a week.
Update from February 18: Today marks the beginning of the big preparation event for the Johto Tour. It is accompanied by limited research and the new Hisuian Electrode.
What kind of event is this? Before the big GO Tour: Johto starts on February 26 Niantic is hosting a preparation event with you. During the week-long event, you’re supposed to collect many Poké Balls that you can use during the Johto Tour. The details of the event “GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball” are now known.

GO Tour: Stay on the Pokéball
When does the event start? It starts on Friday, February 18, at 10:00 AM local time. The event will be active for a week and ends on Friday, February 25, at 8:00 PM local time.
The highlights in brief:
- Hisuian Electrode will be released
- Field research and limited research will replenish your stock of Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls
- Your buddy Pokémon will bring you gifts with Poké Balls
- There’s a Ball costume for your avatar available in the shop (see title image)
New Pokémon form: A few weeks ago, Hisuian Voltorb was unlocked in Pokémon GO. So far, it couldn’t evolve into Hisuian Electrode. This is now changing with the preparation event for the GO Tour, where Hisuian Electrode will make its debut. You can evolve Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode with 50 candies.
Limited research: By now, we know all the tasks and rewards of the event. Here we show you all the rewards of the limited research for the Ball event.
Additionally, there are also new field research in the event that rewards you with balls.
Spawns in the wild: For the event, Niantic selected several Pokémon that will appear more frequently in the wild. We’ll list the spawns for you here. Pokémon marked with a star (*) can also be caught as Shiny.

With the event, you have a full 7 days to fill your inventory with balls. If you want to catch many Pokémon during the big Johto Tour, you should definitely take this opportunity. It is also advisable to sort out unnecessary items. This way, you will have more space for balls in your storage.
