In Pokémon GO the debut of Epitaff is approaching. The strong monster will appear in the GO Battle Week.
When does the event run? During the GO Battle Week, the section “Crashing Battles” will take place from Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM to Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
What are the bonuses? “Crashing Battles” marks the debut of Epitaff, the third evolution of Menki and Rasaff, which first appeared in the games “Scarlet & Violet”.
Epitaff can be obtained through evolution after defeating 30 Ghost or Psychic Pokémon while Rasaff is your buddy. You don’t have to use Rasaff, but a lot of battling is required.
Throughout the event, Rocket Grunts will also appear more frequently, and in addition, the regional Pokémon Jiutesto and Karadonis will be available worldwide.
However, Epitaff is a Pokémon that trainers are already looking forward to.
How strong is Epitaff in Pokémon GO?
That’s why trainers are excited about Epitaff: In the reddit community “TheSilphRoad” for Pokémon GO, some trainers are already thrilled that Epitaff will soon appear. “One of the best new Pokémon,” it says (via reddit).
Especially for fans of the Battle League, Epitaff is expected to be a must-catch Pokémon: PvP expert “JRE47” mentions in one of the first analyses that one would actually want to play Epitaff in every league.
The reason for this is the unusual type combination of “Fighting” and “Ghost,” which allows Epitaff to fill a special niche in the Battle League. Additionally, it has a relatively high CP cap and can take a lot of hits. This, according to JRE47, makes it relevant in all battle leagues. Only in PvE, i.e. against raids and gyms, is it not expected to be as strong as in battles against other trainers or Team GO Rocket.
