In Pokémon GO there is a Smoke Day with Electric and Dragon Pokémon on January 24, 2021. We show you the spawns and what to consider during the event.
The next event for January 2021 has been announced by Niantic. There will be another Smoke Day. Events of this kind have occurred more frequently in Pokémon GO in the past. The special feature is the selected Pokémon that appear after igniting a smoke module.
Smoke Day in January 2021 with Mareep and Dragons
When does it start? The Smoke Day takes place on Sunday, January 24. The kick-off is at 11:00 AM local time. Like on a Community Day, you have 6 hours to make use of the bonuses during this event. It ends at 5:00 PM local time.
The special bonuses: Niantic has come up with a few bonuses for the Smoke Day.
- You will receive a package in the shop with three smoke modules for only one Pokécoin
- During the event, Mareep will be attracted by smoke
- The event is divided into Electric and Dragon hours, which will attract different Pokémon
- If you evolve an Ampharos during the event, it can learn the move Dragon Pulse
Hour divisions:

What will spawn? Niantic has already given players an outlook on the contents of the hours.
- Electric Hour: Pikachu, Magnemite, Voltorb, Electrike, Mareep, Plusle, Minun, and Swalot
- Dragon Hour: Seadra, Dratini, Mareep, Bagon, Vibrava, and Swablu. If you’re lucky, you might encounter Trapinch
With the spawns of Minun, Plusle, and maybe even Trapinch, this event helps you to complete the collector’s medal for the current Hoenn event.
