When does “Hard Times” start? It starts on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM local time. It runs until Friday, December 15, at 8:00 PM.
What does the event bring? Much of the event revolves around Pokémon from the Kanto region, meaning the classics from the first generation. Additionally, you can collect a lot of XP by completing research or using bonuses. Here is a brief overview:
The most important bonuses: “Hard Times” offers the following bonuses for you:
- Triple catch XP
- The guaranteed lucky trade limit has been increased from 15 to 25. This applies to Pokémon you have stored since 2018. This bonus remains beyond the event.
- A limited-time research, where you should make new friends, grants you some XP
- Another limited-time research focuses on your level and gives you items
- A new special research called “Timeless Journeys” begins in Pokémon GO and revolves around the Hisui region
- Ditto disguises itself as other Pokémon
- Increased shiny chance for Vulpix, Ponyta, Krabby, and Voltorb
- Showcases feature Ditto, Krabby, Vulpix, Ponyta, and Voltorb
