On Pokémon GO, the Spotlight Weekend with Waumboll starts on March 26. We will show you what happens during the weekend event.
What kind of event is this? In line with the Shadow Jungle event, there will be special spawns in Pokémon GO this weekend. The shiny form of Waumboll is currently in focus for players, and with the special event, your chances of catching one will increase.
We will provide you with an overview of which event is coming up and what to expect.
Spotlight Weekend in Parks
When does it start? The Spotlight Weekend begins on Saturday, March 26 at 10:00 AM. It will last until Sunday, March 27 at 8:00 PM local time.
What happens during this event? In parks, you will encounter Waumboll more frequently. You also have the chance to meet and catch shiny Waumboll. Whether the chances of encountering them are increased is still unclear.
What should one use this for? During the Shadow Jungle event, you can secure the shiny form of Waumboll. With enough candies, you can then evolve it into Shiny Elfun. However, Waumboll is just one of many Pokémon that will spawn during the event.
If you’re on a shiny hunt, you should take advantage of the weekend and visit parks to benefit from the increased Waumboll spawns. Parks in Pokémon GO are considered larger green spaces. However, how exactly parks will be defined for this event is still pending.
The community hopes that the chances of shiny Pokémon will be increased for the event.
Elsewhere, Pokémon GO is currently adjusting the parameters for Community Days. Instead of the usual 6-hour events, which have been known in recent months, the events will only be active for three hours again. The Game Director of Niantic explains, why they want to shorten the Community Days again and the trainers just cannot believe the reason.
