In Pokémon GO today, on August 18th, the Spotlight Hour with Toxiped takes place. We will show you the bonuses and reveal if the hour is worth it.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. In August all Spotlight Hours and their Pokémon are known. For one hour, a Pokémon will be highlighted and appear everywhere. Additionally, there is a bonus.
This time it’s all about Toxiped from Generation 5. It appears in line with the Einall event, which is currently still ongoing.
All info for the Spotlight Hour with Toxiped
When does the event take place? The Spotlight Hour starts today at 6:00 PM local time. You can then take advantage of the bonuses for exactly one hour, until 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? Of course, the increased spawns are again the most important feature. You will encounter Toxiped everywhere.
Additionally, there is double XP for evolving Pokémon. Thus, you will receive 1000 XP per Pokémon. If you activate a Lucky Egg, you will even get 2000 XP.
Is there Shiny Toxiped? No, Toxiped is not yet available as Shiny in Pokémon GO. So if you only want the Shiny, this Spotlight Hour will disappoint you.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? For trainers who have not yet reached the maximum level 40, this event could be quite interesting. With a Lucky Egg, there are quadruple experience points. In half an hour, you could easily collect over 100,000 XP if you have enough Pokémon for evolutions.
If you don’t need the XP that much, you can skip the event. Toxiped and its evolutions don’t play a big role in the Pokémon GO meta, and without the Shiny hunting, the Spotlight Hour is rather useless.
